Mary Eunice Choate Gastal

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Church honoring the life of Mary Eunice Choate Gastal, 89, who died Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Abbeville .
She will be laid to rest at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery with Reverend Kenneth Mayne officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Tyler Frederick, Jason Frederick, Hunter Girouard, Ryan Bernard, Ty Agilar and Trey Agilar. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole Frederick, Lyle Winch, Solomon Sagrera, Lucas Sagrera, Scott Gastal and Hayden Girouard.
She is survived by her sister, Eula Choate Lene’ of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Stacie Frederick Trahan and husband Blaine, Jason Frederick and wife Connie, Amy Frederick Winch and husband Quentin, Dawn Gastal Agilar and husband Tony, Courtney Gastal Hulin and husband Todd all of Abbeville, Robin Gastal Girouard and husband Chad of Erath, Scott Gastal of Abbeville, Leslie Gastal Sagrera and husband Sonny of Abbeville; thirteen great grandchildren; son in law, Benjie Frederick; and a daughter in law, Mary Faye Gastal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Gastal; father, Ophe Choate; mother, Mary Hebert Choate; daughter, Mary Alice Gastal Frederick; son, Glenn C. Gastal; three brothers, Norman “Snap”, Lawrence and Jay Choate and a sister, JoAnn Choate Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Mrs. Gastal’s family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses at Abbeville General and Heart of Hospice for the care she received.
