RAYNE – Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 10 a.m. for Ethel Sedonia Leger, 89, who died Sunday, February 8, 2009.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Tetus, as she was known to everyone was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to everyone. Her fun loving attitude just drew everyone to her with her jokes. Most of her life was spent raising her four girls, working a little at the fair in Lafayette then retiring with Avery until his death in 2005. The rest of her life was spent spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the time of her death she was living in Lafayette with her daughter.
Surviving are daughter, Marlene Carlson and husband David of Rayne; daughter, Claudette Benoit and husband Michael of Maurice; daughter, Kathy Jagneaux and husband Kurt of Lafayette; grandchildren, Ashley Carlson, Jennifer Carlson, Michael Carlson, Jeffrey Carlson, Leslie Trahan, Nicolas Benoit, and Alex Jagneaux; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles “Dago” Redlich of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Leger; one daughter, Diane Leger Cozad; sisters, Lillian and Julia; and brothers Hank, Bill and Johnny Redlich.
She was born Sunday, September 14, 1919 in Crowley, daughter of the late Charles Redlich and the late Emma Fruge.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10 and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday February 11, 2009 at Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.
