IOTA – A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Lola Belle Miller Foret, 95, who died Monday, February 9, 2009 in Sulphur.
Fr. Mikel Polson, Pastor of Saint Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate the mass and the committal service at the Saint Joseph Mausoleum.
The Rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation took place from 2 p.m. Tuesday until 9 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Lola Belle was a lifelong resident of Iota. She was a graduate of Iota High School and a retired store clerk from Foret’s Grocery Store in Iota.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmore J. Foret; her brothers, Jeff Miller, M.Z. Miller, Leven Miller, and Francis Miller; and a sister, Lydia Miller Stafford.
She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her memory. Lola Belle was a loving, generous and religious woman. She will be remembered mostly for her love of God, love of family, her sewing, quilting, canning and baking. She remained independent until the end. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of the Guardian House for the tender care provided during Ne-Nan’s stay.
