Mr. Israel "Johnnie" Walker



Abbeville-Funeral services will be held for Mr. Israel "Johnnie" Walker 61 at 11:00am Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Faith Hope Christian Fellowship Church-407 Duroq Street-Abbeville, LA where Rev. B. K. Stevens is the Pastor and Pastor Wilton J. Red (Pastor of Thorne of Grace Fellowship Church-Lake Charles, LA) officiating. He will await the resurrection in Faith Hope Church Cemetery in Grosse Isle, LA. Visiting hours will be observed at the church on Saturday from 9:00am until time of service. A resident of Lake Charles and native of Abbeville, he passed away at 3:30am Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Cornerstone Hospital of Southwest Louisiana in Sulphur, LA. He was employed by the Port of Lake Charles for nearly 20 years. He leaves to cherish his fond memory, one son, Israel S. Walker, Jr. of Abbeville, LA; one brother, Jonas Walker(Theresa) of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Sherry Collins of Lake Charles, LA, Wendy(Martin) Alexander of Houston, TX and Penny Guillory of Eunice, LA; two grandchildren, Israel Walker and Shayln Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Walker; his parents, Forman and Lizzie Sawyer Walker and one brother, Isaiah Walker. C. M. Butler Funeral Home of Abbeville is in charge of the arrangements.
