Vermilion Council on Aging Welcomes new clients Age 60, older

The Vermilion Council on Aging, Inc. is proud to welcome new clients throughout Vermilion Parish and encourage residents age 60 and older to learn about the many services and programs available to help them maintain their independence, health, and quality of life.
For decades, the Vermilion Council on Aging has been dedicated to serving the senior citizens of Vermilion Parish with compassion, dignity, and respect. The organization provides a wide range of services designed to support older adults and help them remain active and engaged in their communities.
Available services include:
• Home-Delivered Meals
• Congregate Meal Sites and Social Activities
• Information and Assistance
• Wellness and Health Promotion Programs
• Caregiver Support Resources
• Recreation, Education, and Enrichment Activities
• Senior Center Programs Throughout the Parish
In addition, the Vermilion Council on Aging is excited to announce that a new transportation program will launch in October 2026 with the delivery of a new 2026 Ford Transit passenger vehicle. The vehicle will provide seating for up to eight passengers and is fully wheelchair-accessible, helping seniors and adults with disabilities access medical appointments, nutrition sites, essential services, and community activities in Vermilion Parish.
"Our senior citizens are the foundation of our community," said Clare L. Martin, Executive Director of the Vermilion Council on Aging. "They are the teachers, farmers, business owners, veterans, parents, and community leaders who helped build the Vermilion Parish we know today. We want every eligible senior to know that we are here to provide support, resources, friendship, and opportunities to stay active and connected. The addition of transportation services will help remove barriers that often prevent seniors from accessing the care and services they need."
The organization encourages family members, friends, churches, healthcare providers, and community organizations to help spread the word about available services. Seniors who may benefit from assistance or who are simply looking for opportunities to socialize and participate in activities are encouraged to contact the Vermilion Council on Aging.
The Vermilion Council on Aging serves all residents of Vermilion Parish who are age 60 and older, regardless of income.
