For the second year in a row, the State Farm Bureau queen is from Vermilion Parish. Avery Hebert, a 2019 Vermilion Catholic graduate and LSU student, was crowned as the 2021 Louisiana Farm Queen. She was crowned by Victoria Roussel, the outgoing Louisiana Farm Bureau Queen. Hebert is the daughter of Blair and Michelle Hebert.

Katelyn Paige Carpenter of Erath, Louisiana and Holden Michael Broussard of New Iberia, Louisiana were united in marriage on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, Louisiana. Officiating the 6:30 p.m. ceremony was Father Andre Metrejean and Deacon Durk Viator.
Katelyn is the daughter of Mrs. Lori Porter of Erath, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Gunter of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bossley of Abbeville, Louisiana, and Mrs. Lilly Frederick and the late Mike Frederick of Erath, Louisiana.

A daughter, Amelia Ryan Reynaud, was born on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Abbeville General to Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Ryan Reynaud of Abbeville. The mother is the former Brittanie Daniell Weekly.
On Friday, May 28, 2021, at 6:30 in the evening, Kaitlyn Theriot and Joseph Sandoz, both of Maurice, LA, were united in holy matrimony. The ceremony took place at St. Joseph Catholic church in Milton, Louisiana. Father William Schambough officiated the ceremony.
The University of Mississippi recently announced students named to the Spring 2021 Honor Roll lists, including Chancellor’s Honor Roll. Catherine Ann Romaine, pictured, was among students named.

Romaine was named to the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.
“Our students on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi,” said Chancellor Glenn Boyce. “I commend them for their hard work and dedication resulting in their incredible academic achievements and this well-deserved honor.”
