Gueydan man arrested after allegedly attempting to rob local bank, threatening to shoot employee
GUEYDAN — Officers arrested a man who allegedly threatened to shoot an employee and rob bank in Gueydan after being denied a loan late last week.
Donald Faulk, 66, of Gueydan faces charges of Attempted First Degree Robbery and Terrorizing.
On Oct. 2, at approximately 2 p.m., officers with the Gueydan Police Department were dispatched to the Bank of Gueydan in reference to an individual threatening to go get a gun and shoot an employee.
Upon arrival, officers were notified the individual was sitting on the curb at the drive thru. Officers made contact with the subject, identified as Donald Faulk. Faulk was detained while an investigation was conducted.
Officers spoke with an employee who stated Faulk was requesting a loan and when they refused to loan him money, Faulk stated he was going get a gun and coming back to shoot her.
Officers then spoke with a separate employee who stated Faulk approached her teller window and stated “give me all the money I have a gun”.
Officer booked Faulk into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center following the arrest. The received a total bond of $70,000 for the two charges.
