Vermilion Parish Superintendent makes ‘tough’ decision to cancel school trips
As the number of coronavirus cases continue to climb in Louisiana, Vermilion Parish interim superintendent Brad Prudhomme had to make a strong and unpopular decision, which has upset a few people.
On Monday and Tuesday, Prudhomme spent the day on the phone getting opinions on if he should cancel school trips out of Vermilion Parish.
On Wednesday, Prudhomme made the decision to cancel some of the events high school students were planning to attend.
“I hate doing this,” said Prudhomme. “It bothers me, but I am doing it for the safety of the children and the community.”
