Beverly Desormeaux Hebert

September 8, 1935 — July 29, 2026

Beverly Desormeaux Hebert was born on September 8, 1935 and passed onto her new heavenly residence on July 29, 2026. She was surrounded by her four daughters in the home she lived in since 1969.
Beverly was a colorful icon in Abbeville where she lived her entire life. She thrived while living in the small, southern town of Abbeville. For many years, she was a member of the Abbeville Garden Club where she served as President. She was particularly gifted in flower arranging, gave workshops, and judged contests. Her yard was an ongoing project for more than 50 years bringing her much joy. Beverly was an avid reader and spent endless hours with books in a variety of genres. She and her husband, Bobby, were active members in the Confrerie D’ Abbeville organization, and both were knighted as Chevaliers. They shared a love for France and made 11 trips there, particularly enjoying Paris and spending time with French friends made throughout the years. Their fluency in French enhanced their friendships. Beverly and Bobby ran Beverly’s Custom Framing for 20 years. Many homes and businesses display their craftsmanship and well-respected work. They also sold Audubon prints (Amsterdam series), and Beverly gave lectures on the life of John James Audubon.
For 20 years, Beverly and Bobby’s annual Cookie Party ushered in the Christmas season. The event became a tradition that was anticipated by many. A favorite dessert or bottle of wine brought festivity to the gala, and Beverly created a unique holiday setting for each party.
Beverly was married to Robert L. Hebert for 48 years, and they had one daughter, Andrea Leah Hebert (Rodrigo Valverde). Daughters from a previous marriage are Angelique Boudreaux Ward (James Monroe Ward), Rachael Boudreaux Novak, Camille Boudreaux (Jason Johnson). Grandchildren are Hayden Neveaux, Rachael W. Felts, Caroline S. Ward, Carter D. Cole; great grandchildren are Danny J. Meche and Blaire Felts. Sister is Judy Desormeaux.

She was blessed with visits from Judy and her daughter (Margaret), great niece (Sabrina), and great nephew (Sebastian) who live in California. Beverly was close with her nephews and nieces, her sisters’ children. Beverly cherished many years of family activity with Lois’ children, known affectionately as the LeBlanc clan. Each of them enhanced her life in many enduring ways: Libby, Bill (Renae) Mary Morgan (Tony), Mitchell (Freda).
Predeceased in death were her husband, Robert L. Hebert, her parents John Octave and Hazel Dyson Desormeaux; son, Julian McGinn Boudreaux; and sister, Lois LeBlanc.
The family extends gratitude to Hospice of Acadiana and Nurse Natalie Gray, as well as her caregivers, who provided comfort during Beverly’s final chapter. The Luquette family blessed Beverly endlessly over the years, and deep gratitude flows to these lovely neighbors. And finally, much appreciation is extended to Marcel and Cheryl Jeanfreau for their faithful and fun lunch dates which enriched her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beverly’s residence on Saturday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friends and family are welcome!
