Calvin Francis Lequeux

August 3, 1954 ~ May 31, 2021

ERATH — A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. John Church honoring the life of Calvin Francis Lequeux, 66, who died Monday, May 31, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital. He will be laid to rest at Bancker Cemetery with Reverend Emmanuel Fernandez officiating the services. Pallbearers will be Brent Nunez, Travis Lequeux, Matthew Lequeux, Randy Vaughn, Steve Williams, and Richie Hebert.
Calvin was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired as boat captain after 30 years. Later he went to work as a courier for the Vermilion Parish School Board. He enjoyed frequenting the casinos and was a regular at El Camino’s every Wednesday night. He as a positive role model and dependable leader as an assistant scout master with the Boy Scouts. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and a wonderful friend. Calvin will de dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marsha G. Lequeux; children, Felicia Nunez, Brent Nunez and his wife Michelle, Marie Lequeux, Travis Lequeux and his fiancée, Jacquelyn, and Matthew Lequeux and partner, Chloé; grandchildren, Gabe, Morgan, Conner, Blythe, Mya, Addisyn, Michael, Avalon, Chloe, Jolie, Stella, Grayson, and Oliver; and siblings, Laurel Montagnet, Robert Lequeux and his wife, Jeannie, and Nora Gates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Stella Lequeux; and brother-in-law, Pierre Montagnet.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM; Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM when the procession will depart for the church.
