Abbeville — A Celebration of Life for Donald Briggs, Sr., 85, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Faith Hope Christian Fellowship, 407 Duroq Street, Abbeville, LA
Bishop B. K. Stevens will officiate the funeral services.
Visitation will be held at the church Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. until time of services,
Interment will be at Greater Pleasant Green Baptist Church Cemetery, Abbeville, LA
Brother Donald Briggs, Sr. was born Thursday, January 10, 1936 the union to the late Lurdrick Briggs and Elvia Lavine-Briggs Lafayette, LA. After high school he served in the United State Armed Forces and was honorable discharged. He later married the former Gladys Levene in 1959.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings, Al Sherman Briggs, Vernon Briggs, Francis Briggs, Frank Adam, Jr, Rose Davis, Rachel Mouton, and Louise Briggs.
Donald departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in New Iberia, LA following a lengthy illness.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Gladys Briggs of Abbeville, LA; his children, Donald (Keturalh Briggs, Jr., Daniel Briggs, Jason Briggs, Damien Briggs, Christopher (Rene) Briggs, Sheryl (Timmie) Harris, Wesley Briggs, Barkley Briggs, Nyasha Briggs, and Lisa (William) Briggs all of Abbeville, LA., Quentin (Melissa) Briggs and Lucas Briggs, both of Birmingham, AL, Brandon (Amy) Briggs of New Iberia, LA, Jeremy Briggs of St. Martinville, LA; one sister, Winnie Davis of Abbeville, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
