When you first look at the Vermilion Catholic/Covenant Christian final score, 57-6, one would think the Eagles were in control all game.
Think again.
At one time, VC was behind 6-0 in the opening minutes of the first period. But that did not last long. The Eagles went on to score 50 first-half points to secure the victory.
VC head coach Broc Prejean was proud of how his team played on Thursday.

Abbeville head coach Roderick Moy knew what the Wildcats’ first eight plays of the game would be before the game began.
However, by the time he completed calling seven out of the eight plays, Abbeville had a convincing 28-0 lead.
The Wildcats cruised to a 51-6 win over West St. Mary in a non-district game.
Abbeville improves to 4-1 on the year.
“The first eight plays were going to be the first eight plays,” said Moy. “Those were the plays we practiced all week long. We were only able to run seven plays. We did not get through the eight plays.”

KAPLAN — Kaplan High junior Kennedy Marceaux knew when she walked onto the University of Alabama campus that it was the place she wanted to spend the next four years of her life.
For the last month, Marceaux has been recruited by most softball programs in the country. She could have written her ticket as to where she wanted to play.
Marceaux and her family visited four softball programs — UL-Lafayette, LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama. On her fourth university visit, the Marceauxs traveled six hours to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
