Kasey Hargrave - Cord Larsen united in marriage

Miss Kasey Lynn Hargrave and Mr. Cord Kirk Larsen were united in marriage on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at seven o’clock in the evening at Calcasieu National Marine Bank in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Larry Maxwell. Reverend Dore Langley, great uncle of the bride, and Monika Grimsley, aunt of the groom, provided ceremony readings.
The bride is the daughter of David and Christie Hargrave of Kaplan, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of the late Reverend John Noah Langley and Katherine Ernestine Langley of Kaplan, Louisiana and May Hargrave and the late Roland Hargrave of Kaplan, Louisiana. The groom is the son of Suzanne Monroy and Kirk Larsen of Bossier City, Louisiana. He is the grandson of the late Clara Chapa Paul and the late Alfredo Monroy.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an exquisite ivory gown in all over lace with a sleek design, found exclusively at A-Nets Bridal Boutique. The gown displayed a high neckline with sheer lace and enchanting scalloped edging that remained throughout the back. The sophisticated gown was finished with delicate bridal buttons down the bodice, and an elegant chapel length train. The bouquet was adorned with heirloom brooches from the mother of the bride, both of the bride’s grandmother’s and the grooms’ grandmother.
Jacqueline Clark of Lake Charles, served as maid of honor. Heather Touchet Baudoin of Carencro, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Lauren Hargrave of Lafayette, sister in law of the bride, Mandy Tarkington of Lake Charles, Kacie Cryer of Lake Charles, and Marissa Robb of California. The flower girl was Camille Collins of Lake Charles. The bridesmaids wore floor length gowns in burgundy chiffon and lace. Each carried a hand-tied fresh bouquet of burgundy and ivory flowers.
Matthew Danna of Pickering served as best man. Groomsmen included Chase Larsen of Shreveport, brother of the groom, Taylor Hargrave of Lafayette, brother of the bride, Matt Anding of Church Point, Greg Single of Lake Charles and Tremayne Phillips of Shreveport. The ring bearer was Gus Campbell of Kaplan, godchild of the bride. The groom wore a dark grey suit, while the groomsmen wore a lighter grey suit with burgundy ties.
The couple’s first dance was to “From the Ground Up” by Dan and Shae. The bride danced with her father to “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw, and the groom danced with his mother to “A Song for Mama” by Boys II Men. DJ David Verret of Avid Sounds provided the music for the ceremony and reception.
Wedding guests were served hors d’oeuvres and cocktails followed by a buffet dinner hosted by the bride’s parents. Chef Bobby & Dot of Kaplan provided the catering. Southern Tipsy of Lake Charles provided the beverages.
The wedding cake was a five tiered wedding cake flavored with white chocolate buttercream frosting. It was ivory with gold glittery accents, along with flowers arranged by artist Adonis Gregory Meaux of Kaplan.
The groom’s cake was a tiered style Crossfit cake. It was flavored with chocolate and strawberry. The groom’s cake table was inspired by the couple’s passion for Crossfit. Cake Love of Sulphur was the baker of both cakes.
Shannon Marie Photography of Kaplan provided engagement photography. Chris Brennan of Lake Charles provided wedding and bridal photography. Flowers were provided by Cathy’s floral designs of Sulphur. Occasions, by Roderick Stutes of Sulphur provided the Décor. Artist Adonis Gregory Meaux of Kaplan painted several pieces of décor for the wedding venue. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Springhill Suites banquet room catering provided by Casa Mannana.
The bride is a graduate of Kaplan High School in Kaplan, Louisiana. She graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education and is now employed with the Calcasieu Parish School Board teaching first grade in Lake Charles. The groom is a graduate of Bossier High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Northwestern State University and is now employed with St. Louis Catholic High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he teaches and coaches football, powerlifting, track, and wrestling.
Following a honeymoon at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, Kasey and Cord will reside in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
