Town of Erath ‘Moving Forward’ with Christmas Celebration

Cook off, train rides will take place on Saturday

ERATH — Erath has stepped up its Christmas Celebration thanks to the town’s new “Moving Erath Forward” mindset.
For years, Erath has had a Christmas Celebration with the lighting of the Christmas Tree and a visit by Santa Claus. The surrounding community has visited City Hall and watched as the lights get turned on.
This year, under Mayor Taylor Mencacci and the Moving Erath Forward members, Christmas celebration in Erath is growing.
“Our Moving Erath Forward group has been talking and preparing for this event since January 1,” said Mayor Mencacci. “The group we have are very progressive when it comes to giving back and making our community better.”
There will be a cook-off that will involve town vendors, and the public will be able to taste the food for free.
“Starting at 4 o’clock, we are going to have 20 local businesses that are cooking. It will be free food for all who come, and also we are going to have 20 craft vendors set up like farmer’s market style. Essentially that’s the only thing you’re going to have to pay for when you come,” says Mayor Mencacci.
It will be an opportunity to take your Christmas photos, buy gifts, and experience all the joys of Christmas with the whole Erath community.
“They don’t have to travel outside of Erath to get the beautiful thing such as Christmas, so it is so important to have these festivities and these events in Erath to keep the people here in Erath,” says Mayor Mencacci.
