Spirit Fest coming April 6 at Christian Service Center

For the third year in a row, the Christian Service Center is inviting the community to gather together for Spirit Fest, on April 6th from 10 am to 1pm at 701 Chevis in Abbeville for a free & spirit-filled event. They will provide lunch, family friendly activities and an opportunity to celebrate faith together as one community. " We have so much to be grateful for, God is so faithful and takes care of our every need" said Director of Operations, Marcelo Davis.

Jerome Puyau

Vermilion Superintendent Puyau applies for interim superintendent job

Vermilion Parish School Superintendent Jerome Puyau is throwing his name in the hat to be the interim superintendent of the Lafayette Parish School System.
Puyau mailed his resume last week to the Lafayette School System. It had to be postmarked by March 20. All applications will remain in a post office box until April 1. Then the Lafayette School Board will call a meeting to review them and move on to interviews.

To help provide vision and direction for the staff and programming is the organization’s 15-member board representing Vermilion Parish cities, towns, and government organizations as well as the Chamber of Commerce.

Telly Briggs

Telly Briggs booked by Abbeville Police on three counts of simple kidnapping

Telly Briggs has been booked after he allegedly kidnapped a woman and two children.
On March 24, at approximately 6:30 p.m., patrol officers with the Abbeville Police Department responded to a call of a possible disturbance at Chapel Down Apartments on West Port Street.
The complainant stated that her daughter called her and told her that her boyfriend had beat her up. The complainant stated to officers that she was also going to the apartment to check on her daughter.
