National Guard armory in need of more land to expand in Abbeville
The National Guard Armory in Abbeville is in need of more land to expand, so it went to the Vermilion Parish School Board to possibly lease land north of Abbeville.
Homer Stelly, a retired command sergeant major for the National Guard, attended last week’s school board meeting representing the National Guard. He informed the school board that the National Guard is in need of 15 acres to build a “readiness center.”
The National Guard located 15 acres of school board owned land on La. 338, near the Magnolia Water Plant.
