Wildcats stall for nine minutes, nip NV

The Abbeville Wildcats nipped the North Vermilion Patriots 28-24 in double overtime last week.
One would think that by playing eight extra minutes, it would lead to a lot more scoring. But that was not the case.
The Wildcats, sitting on a 19-18 lead in the third period, held the ball for nine straight minutes and did not take a shot.
In the meantime, the Patriots sat back in a zone defense, and Abbeville’s McKinley Nicholas stood at midcourt, next to Abbeville head coach Colby Batiste bouncing the ball.

Delcambre anthers in good shape in power rankings

The Delcambre Panthers find themselves in a great place at this time in the season.
The Panthers won their 10th game of the year, with a 55-36 district win over Catholic High on Tuesday.
What that win did was move the Panthers (10-4) to No. 16 in the unofficial Class 2A power rating, according to GeauxPreps.com.
If the playoffs began today, the Panthers would have a home game in the first round because the top 16 get a home game.
