Les Amis Du Français en Vermillon French organization receives donation from internationally-known Confrerie D’abbeville

Confrerie d’Abbeville, a member of the international fraternity of French-speaking areas of the world promoting French language and heritage, recently donated $500 to Les Amis du Français en Vermillon (Friends of French in Vermilion), a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of French language, heritage and culture, and to the continued success of French education in Vermilion parish.

Miss Hannah Marie Vidallier and Mr. Luke Steven Thompson were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, February 25 during a ceremony at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Casey Dugas was the celebrant of the 1 pm ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Vidallier of Abbeville. The groom is the son of Mrs. Pauline Jordan and Mr. Todd Thompson of New Iberia.

Miss Holli Marie Mire and Mr. Nicholas Cole Landry United in Marriage

A wedding on Saturday, Feb. 18, united Holli Marie Mire and Nicholas Cole Landry. The ceremony took place at 6 p.m. at Le Barn Rouge in Lafayette, with Pastor Mo Seneca officiating the ceremony.
Holli is the daughter of Enoch and Denise Mire of Abbeville, La. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Audrey Mire and the late Newman Mire, Sr. and the late Daniel and Charlotte Girouard. Holli is the great-granddaughter of the late Murphy and Mattie Moss and the late Jules and Clara Girouard.

Abbeville High's Cherry named Vermilion Boys & Girls Club's Youth of the Year

The Vermilion Boys & Girls Club recently announced Tyler Cherry (red jacket) as its
Vermilion Youth of the Year. Pictured (L-R) is Abbeville High Coach Roderick Moy, Tyler Cherry, Sharika Laws (Tyler’s mother) and 2022 youth of the year McKinsey Nicholas. Tyler will move on to the next round for the title of Acadiana Youth of the year. Cherry is a senior at Abbeville High School.
