KAPLAN — Comic-Con will be in Kaplan today.
Comic-Con is the theme of today’s Krewe Chic-a-la-Pie parade, which rolls at 2 p.m.
Linda Vincent, the Krewe President, said, expect to see comic characters such as Batman, Superman, Scooby-Doo and other comic book characters.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Highway 14 and Cushing Boulevard. It will go north up Cushing Boulevard, then travel in the back of Kaplan Middle School and come out on Cushing Boulevard again and head south.
No glass containers and pets are allowed at the parade.

PINEVILLE – Effective March 1, 2020, Cleco’s retail customers (residential and non-residential) will save $22.3 million a year on their bills due to the removal of the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita “Storm Restoration Charge.”
“This is good news for our customers,” said Bill Fontenot, president and CEO of Cleco. “Cleco’s residential customers will, on average, pay $3.75 less per month resulting in savings of about $45 over 12 months, which supports our ongoing efforts to lower customers’ bills.”

Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau Federation had a very special annual meeting on Sunday at the Farm Bureau Centre Board Room.
The 69th Annual Meeting was held to elect officers, board members and honor some very special people.
Bryan Simon, the 2019 president for Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau, addressed the packed room about the state of the parish’s Farm Bureau offices, members, and financial position along with the future of farming in the parish.
Jamie Lee, Ag in the Classroom chairman, presented a report on the activities that were conducted during the year.
