Travin ‘Tiki’ Moore

‘Tiki’ wants to follow in his father’s footsteps

Travin ‘Tiki’ Moore would love to be just like his dad.
“I know my dad (Travin Moore) was a great athlete at Abbeville High, (2000 AHS grad),” he said about his dad, who was a standout player at Abbeville back in the day. “But I would also like to be better than he was .. someday.”
That is pretty big words to say considering his father’s athletic accomplishments in high school and college.
The elder Moore was an All-State football player and track star for the Wildcats. He played football at Northwestern State. Travin is also in the Abbeville High Hall of Fame.

For the head football coaches at the various high schools in Vermilion Parish, it’s something that they are keeping an eye on, but they don’t believe that the start of the upcoming football season will be pushed back or delayed.

Wildcats quarantined

It’s a 10 letter word that is not good to begin with, but for a football coach in these times, it’s the equivalent of a four-letter word and not to be uttered for fear of bad luck.
Unfortunately for Abbeville High football, it’s a word that’s reared its head as head football coach Roderick Moy is starting to wind down summer workouts and begin preparations for the upcoming football season.

Meet Kaplan’s ‘Utility Guy’

KAPLAN - Kaplan junior Gabriel Clement’s nickname could very well be “slash” and not just because he plays running back/wide receiver for the Pirates.
According to first-year head coach Cory Brodie, it’s very likely because he’s such a versatile weapon in the Kaplan offensive arsenal for the 2021 season.
