Vermilion Parish is gifted with bushy fig trees prolific with figs waiting to picked every year. I’ve tried that fun excursion several times. I love cooking the figs, enjoying the aroma and sometimes tasting. I don’t eat raw figs.
My mom taught me to freeze the delicious cooked figs in containers the size you will use for your next baking day. A doubled bag portion of frozen figs lasts a long time, years.

This service project works closely with Faith House by providing furniture, baby items, and other necessities of daily living for women and their children through the transition of fleeing domestic violence. The project adopted their local outreach center in 2019 by painting and organizing the space to create a welcoming and serene environment for their clients.
